Week 3 Free Agent Profiles: QB, RB, WR

The good news for Week 3 is that fewer injuries have been cause for fantasy owners to make mad dashes to the waiver wire. Bad news is, fewer sound options exist in free agency, meaning fewer chances to address weak links in your lineups.

The two players most heavily pursued this week are sure to be running back Darren Sproles, who suddenly has handcuff value for LaDainian Tomlinson owners, and San Francisco quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan, who registered his first career 300-yard game last week. Lots of speculative picks remain, but few fantasy teams can afford to look beyond their present issues and focus on the future. Following Week 2, many fantasy owners are looking for ways to compensate for the fact that they have Jeremy Shockey, Shayne Graham, and the Chargers D/ST in their starting lineups. If your ‘08 draftees are proving to be big time busts, be sure to pick up some of these possible solutions before setting your roster for Week 3.

Match-ups are key this week. We’ve seen these teams play twice now and are able to start to suspect which defenses are like practice squads and which offenses will be sure to botch red zone opportunities and set their kickers up for chip shots. Read more »

Games like Monday night’s Eagles-Cowboys shootout not only make for good water-cooler talk, but also help prove why the NFL is the most successful sports organization in the United States.

There’s no question that the Philadelphia at Dallas NFC East showdown was the biggest game of the early season so far, and much like the hype generated from the previous week, both teams did nothing less than flex their offensive muscles on the national stage. Read more »
