The Buffalo Bills season may have sailed wide right, following a similar path to Rian Lindell’s Monday night missed kick. The team is 5-5 and now in dead-last place in the AFC East after coming off an ugly loss at home against Cleveland.

This has us wondering: weren’t these the same Bills who were once a trendy pick to win this division with Brady out? Isn’t this the same team that was 4-0 and looked so promising a quarter into the season? Read more »

“Wide right” is the cruelest phrase a person can utter in western New York.

Brady Quinn and the Browns used it to their advantage and escaped Buffalo with a narrow 29-27 win on Monday night. The victory moves Cleveland to 4-6 on the season and keeps its razor-thin-playoff hopes alive, while Buffalo’s setback drops them to 5-5 and last place in the AFC East. Read more »

Alright, back to square one. After a 5-9 Week 6, I’m back at an even .500 (43-43-2) on the year. All I can say is that if the Rams can win a game, then I can come up with a big week.

Before looking at the picks, let’s all visualize the unbeaten Titans and try to block out the negative energy of teams like the Bengals and Lions who have combined for an 0-11 start to the year. OK, that’s enough visualizing. It’s go time! Read more »

The Week 7 DVR Report

Posted by Scott Uhing

This year’s trade deadline came and went Tuesday afternoon, supplying several familiar faces in much newer places. Easily, the major deal included sending Detroit WR Roy Williams and a few draft picks to Dallas for a slew of similar draft picks, including a first rounder in next year’s draft.

Elsewhere, former MVP Shaun Alexander signed as a free agent with the Washington Redskins, joining a club that already boasts the league’s leader in rushing yards, Clinton Portis.

The headline deal that wasn’t made was Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez. The disgruntled future Hall-of-Famer will now finish out the season with Kansas City, for better or worse. Read more »

Week 5 NFL Team Power Rankings

Posted by Brian Lauer

Another week in the NFL has meant another week of NFC dominance. The NFC East, which sent three teams to the playoffs last year, is dominating through the first four weeks. All four teams are in the top 10 of Imaginary Gridiron’s power rankings, and the Eagles are sure to rise once Brian Westbrook (ankle) is healthy.

The undefeated Bills and Titans are the class of the AFC thus far, while the Colts and Patriots look to re-gain their historical dominance coming off bye weeks. Both teams need to get healthy and address shortcomings in a hurry in order to contend for playoff berths. Read more »

We’re in a tough spot with our morals here. We don’t condone gambling on football, if anything because all the fun of an NFL Sunday will turn into torture, but we like the challenge of picking against point spreads. Hammerin’ Hank Goldberg can eat his heart out, as we unleash resident gamer Raisin’ Brant Nelson on this week’s slate of games.

Buffalo is among the teams we like to take care of business, traveling to Jacksonville in one of the weekend’s most intriguing games. On the flip side, Kansas City and Oakland couldn’t get any less intriguing, but the host Chiefs are a good pick against the hapless Raiders. Check out where the rest of the winners are in the Week 2 edition of Raisin’ Brant. Read more »

After a season-opening week of surprises and injuries, fantasy owners should be hitting waiver wires hard this week in an effort to add depth outside of the skill positions. This can be easily accomplished by making a few moves to pick up a tight end, defense or kicker, either to play a backup role or replace a struggling (or injured) starter.

Here are a couple of contributors that likely slipped through the cracks on draft day. They would make great additions to your bench and could add some depth to your squad for when the bye weeks start in Week 4. But, take heed by noting the “What to Watch For” line as it could provide some possible downside to these mid-week additions.  Read more »
